After recovering in Seattle, Ellie and Jesse plan to move a feverish Dina—whom Jesse suspects is pregnant—back to Jackson. Ellie insists on finding Tommy and pursuing Abby Anderson. They compromise to search only for Tommy, believing he's near Abby. Using a Ferris wheel to navigate, they travel through ruined buildings toward the aquarium. When floods block their path, they hijack a boat after overhearing WLF soldiers discussing a sniper at the marina, possibly Tommy. Jesse goes to help Tommy, but Ellie, still focused on Abby, takes the boat and heads to the aquarium alone.
