Star8 Electric Big Bike

A teaser look at the Manta e-bike from Star 8 Green Technology Corporation - Pure electric, no gas or diesel.

It looks and performs like a regular motorcycle, with a top speed of 85KPH and an estimated range of 80KM on a single charge.

I expect this video will raise more questions than it answers because LTO guidelines on e-vehicles are a little outdated and open to interpretation. But I know they've been making progress lately, partly because of the e-vehicles entering the market for the PUV modernization program.

There will be more videos that take a much closer look at the bikes performance as well as potential requirements for drivers.

This unit is temporarily covered by a special permit to travel from the LTO. Once they have the CP from BOC, it should be possible to register this with LTO.

I'm a big fan of e-vehicles but I do believe the larger ones should be registered and/or regulated by LTO.
