My Careel 18 Second Wind, Mango Madness goes to Tin Can Bay and does the 2022 Bay to Bay Yacht Race

The Iconic Bay 2 Bay Trailer Sailer Yacht Race, 2 day passage race up the Great Sandy Straits, held on the Queensland Labour Day long weekend each year. Starting at Snapper Creek in Tin Can Bay, overnighting half way at Garry's Anchorage, restarting Sunday Morning at 7:30 am and finishing at Hervey Bay

Last year we drove 1400 kms and 2 days to get there from Sydney, launched Mango Madness, test sailed her, then on the day of the race 30 minutes before shipping off we had to abandon due to weather, driving another 1400 kms home (we did have a great road trip though and sail on the Clarence river on our way home).
So this year was unfinished business, we go back to Tin Can Bay and did the race finishing 2nd on PBH for the Careel Class whilst my Careel Second Wind was minus her centreboard plate as I refurbish it.
