'embark' is an inquisitive and adventurous vgm-style theme following the first steps of a hero's journey. It starts with an ostinato bell figure (using the notes set by the contest challenge, in sequence) on top of a warm acoustic guitar, outlining a bright Ab lydian sound. A flute plays on its lonesome. As the track goes on, more parts come in to support the flute. The tonality and rhythm also evolve to signify curiosity, hesitance, and excitement, ramping up in energy while maintaining lightness. This track represents hope in new beginnings.

I didn't go super crazy with interpreting the prompt and I think that keeps in line with my general approach to music. Although I did use the notes from the prompt for first half of the piece, I adapted it further to fit the different sections as they changed throughout the track. I mostly let the melodies and emotion speak in this piece which explains the multiple time and key changes. I did keep it mostly simple outside of that but I love a good key change especially when I have to find a way back to the home key. Anyways, this was really fun to write, and all the best to everyone else participating in the contest!
