Ninjago was the first ninja-based product line launched by LEGO since ending the short-lived ‘Ninja’ line in 2000.

This new collection carried over many of the elements of its predecessor, but LEGO Ninjago set itself apart by captivating audiences with its fully realised stories and eclectic roster of characters.

Coinciding with the launch of LEGO’s Ninjago line, an animated TV series was created. It was initially intended to last only two seasons, consisting of 13 episodes each. But LEGO Ninjago has proven so popular that the discontinuation plan was ignored, spurred forward by an outpouring of positive feedback from fans.

The Ninjago TV series has since gone on to span 13 seasons and a movie (as of 2020), with no signs of slowing down soon.

Each wave of LEGO Ninjago sets is intended to correspond with the current ongoing season, presenting main locations, vehicles, weapons, mechs, and characters.
