8 Tips for University of Minnesota Freshmen

Some tips for freshmen at the "U", as it's known in the state of Minnesota.

9. Enjoy the experience!- There will probably never again be a time in your life that you will have such close access to the majority of your friends. Make the most of it!
10. Learn to get rejected, repeatedly- Having the balls to do something you think you will fail at is one of the biggest skills I took away from college. Primarily in social situations. Take the risk every time.
11. Do stuff you're interested in to find people who like those same things. Even for an extreme introvert, forming connections to people doesn't have to be a terrifying thing after those first few weeks. The great thing about a giant school? You are almost guaranteed to have a club that fits what you're interested. Joining could be a great way to meet people that are into the same things as you and could thus be friends.
12. College can be a good time. While academics are a thing, four years can fly by, so be sure to enjoy it in whatever way that may be for you.
