An Old Victorian Home Gets A New Personality

In this home tour, designer Amanda Shields takes us inside her clients’ renovated Victorian house in the Toronto beaches. Originally renovated in the 1990s, the home was due for a refresh for a new family. “I wanted a design that would touch on old ideas but was still modern and stand the test of time,” says Amanda. Checkerboard floors, archways and stained glass windows lend itself to Old World design, while contemporary features like a built-in wet bar and open-concept living space feels fresh and of the moment.
