Advanced Tune Tuesday - The Mathematician

Hello friends of the fiddle! I’m back and not even close to better than ever. I’m mostly just back. And that’s gonna have to do. I have two weeks of #2022advancedplayerschallenge tunes in the backlog and one more for this current week so away we go. This one is Scott Skinner’s “The Mathematician” and I normally don’t do the bouncy hornpipe rhythm like this but every recording I could find had the bouncy hornpipe rhythm so you’re getting the bouncy hornpipe rhythm. I managed the ridiculous position shifting sections in the B part to varying degrees of success but hey, I’m still recovering so like I always tell my students to do, I’m giving myself a little grace and moving on.

It was nice to pick the fiddle back up after what might have been my longest stretch of not playing in the modern era. My friend @fiddle_school has also been on a journey of her own (a much more significant one and I’m sending her all the love) and has been making lots of fabulous posts about getting back into the swing of things. I’d suggest checking them out.
