Can you store alcohol in a Trangia burner?

One question I keep getting from people, in one form or another, is can alcohol be stored in a Trangia burner. I thought I would address that question in this video.

Back on July 9 2015 I put a load of alcohol in one of my newer Trangia burners (meaning one that doesn't have any cracks) and set the burner on one of the garage windows facing west. My thought of putting it there was that the burner would cycle through very hot and relitive cool periods.

I only meant to leave the burner there for a week or two at the most. Although I believe you can store alcohol in the burner for a hike I normally wouldn't leave alcohol in a Trangia burner for long term. I always empty the burners of alcohol when they're not in use.

So this video shows that I lost very little alcohol over the 69 days on the window sill. I also light the burner to show that it didn't absorb water over that time to replace any alcohol that might have been lost.
