Prostitutes, the Andes, and Japanese sword makers | Pierre du Plessis | TEDxSoweto

Описание к видео Prostitutes, the Andes, and Japanese sword makers | Pierre du Plessis | TEDxSoweto

Trend analyst Pierre du Plessis offers the antidotal idea that in a world dominated by selfies and Facebook, four basic friends are all we really need: a mentor in front of you, a disciple behind you, a close friend next to you, and lastly, someone to hold up a mirror to you.

Pierre du Plessis analyses trends and observes the flow of the world. He has worked in advertising, fashion and trends for the last 15 years; done over 400 talks; and shopped for about 9000 hours. He lives, proudly, in Pretoria.

This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
