Since July, Newslaundry has published four reports covering six colonies across Delhi, including Defence Colony, New Friends Colony, Shanti Niketan, CR Park, GK, and Vasant Vihar. All these elite colonies had one thing in common: Footpaths had vanished there.

Residences have encroached upon footpaths, and the authorities seem to be doing nothing. While the public suffers, these neighbourhoods point to a bigger story: it's a pattern across Delhi, and according to our numerous readers who wrote to us, a pattern across various Indian cities.
