Heather Lake is one of my favorite spots in the Sequoia National Park. It is absolutely beautiful during both summer and winter times. You can reach the lake via Watchtower trail or Hump Trail. The one filmed in this video is via Watchtower trail, which totals to 8.1 miles approximately, for a round trip. If you take the hump trail, the total travel is about 7.2 miles. The elevation of the lake sits at 2,112ft.

The watchtower trail is moderately trafficked and the hike level is “moderate” according to AllTrails App. Through the same trail, however, if you travel about 2 miles further up north of Heather Lake, you can also reach Aster, Emerald and Pear lakes, but the difficulty level then becomes “hard” and the total travel distance increases to 11.8 miles.
