A world-first! UV Torch Golf Ball Hunt | Golf | Story10 | WSS

DP World have created an innovative new way to find lost golf balls for the 'DP World Second Life Container' as it arrives at Wentworth Golf Club for the BMW PGA Championship

All you need is a spare golf course, a dark sky, a UV torch and a never say die attitude.

'Getting down into the bushes, and getting smacked in the face was painful. But hey it was worth it' said Jasmine "The Jazzy Golfer who rounded up 25 women from her UK Ladies Golf Community project, and they were set loose by TV Golf pundit Wayne 'Radar' Riley on a local golf course.

The UV torches lit up the balls so that they shone in the undergrowth, and in the 30 minutes of allotted time the girls, split into five groups, found nearly 400 balls.

Jazzy's team were the winners with 110 balls.

The balls were put into the DP World Second Life Container' which is in it's third year of traveling thousands of miles around with the DP World Tour.

Over the past three years, the container has collected over 300,000 used and lost golf balls which have been distributed to grassroots golf initiatives throughout the world, including the UK, Kenya, South Africa and the UAE.
