Hey everyone! It's another review but this time it was requested from one of my comments! I'll try to get through all yoyo review requests, you just have to give me time since there are some that I want to buy and I also have to watch my budget.

Anyways, here is the MagicYoYo K1. It's a responsive yoyo that MYY (MagicYoYo) has been selling for a very long time. The K1 features little plastic shims that spin on bearings in the inner cup of the yoyo.

So keep in mind that I started yoyoing in the late 90's, there was no "unresponsive" style of playing. In events like this where I get to review a modern plastic responsive yoyo, it definitely peaks my interest to see how much has technology improved. I know that there are high end plastic yoyos that were incredible in performance like YoYoJam, but the K1 is a budget plastic yoyo. So I would compare this to classic yoyos like the saber raider by yomega, Duncan Freehand one, Spintastics Tigershark and so on.

The K1 is definitely meant for beginners. As a responsive yoyo, the performance is honestly very impressive. Now just keep in mind that I'm referring it to when the hubstacks are removed. Because without the hubstacks, it becomes a smooth playing balanced responsive yoyo.

I strap on a thin string (I think 10 strands) and it brings me back to nostalgia...but so much smoother. I'm able to hit most of my unresponsive tricks but I gotta go fast. I do like this yoyo.

BUT, it isn't without it's faults of course. The biggest one is the STABILITY. When you've got your tricks all hitting, if the yoyo lands just a little off on the string, it changes the tilt of the yoyo severely.

Is it a bad thing? Not really but it does get annoying for beginners since our confidence is based on how fast and well we learn tricks. But this stability issue forces one to learn how to be consistent when throwing.

And once you add the hubstacks on, it adds more umph and bounce to every string hit. But at the cost of some added vibe.

I know it doesn't sound all that great, but for a budget plastic responsive yoyo, it isn't too bad. For a "FIRST" yoyo, yeah I think it's a definite buy. But if you're already well into a few months into yoyoing, I would pass on this.
