During the Medieval period and the Wars of the Roses, there was one event which was considered incredibly shocking. The heir Edward V and his brother Richard the Duke of York disappeared inside of the Tower of London in what is known as 'The Princes in the Tower Mystery.' It's presumed that the two Princes were murdered however it still has not been solved over 500 years on. But one man who has been strongly linked to the killing of a King to be was Sir James Tyrrell. His father was executed for being a traitor, but during the Wars of the Roses he was knighted fighting for the House of York.

Tyrrell became close with King Richard III, and it's believed that he may have been given the order to kill the Princes in the Tower, as it's likely that many would have questioned Richard's legitimacy on the throne with the pair alive. It was believed during the Tudor period that Tyrrell allegedly admitted to killing Edward V and his brother. But later on he supported rebels who wanted King Henry VII off the throne, and for this he was sentenced to death for treason. He was executed on Tower Hill in front of a large crowd, but today Sir James Tyrrell is considered a man who may have been a King killer.
