Κάπνισμα ή άτμισμα; (Smoking or vaping?)

Το κάπνισμα είναι μία επιβλαβής συνήθεια για την υγεία και μπορεί να οδηγήσει στον θάνατο. Το άτμισμα έχει έρθει στο προσκήνιο εδώ και δεκαετίες για να υποκαταστήσει το κάπνισμα. Τι είναι όμως λιγότερο επικίνδυνο; Πολλές έρευνες έχουν καταλήξει στο ότι το υγρό του ηλεκτρονικού τσιγάρου μπορεί να περιέχει πολύ λιγότερες επιβλαβείς ουσίες άπ’ότι ο συμβατικός καπνός. Σε κάθε περίπτωση, οι ατμιστές πρέπει να είναι επαρκώς ενημερωμένοι από τον κατασκευαστή για την σήμανση και τα περιεχόμενα του ηλεκτρονικού τσιγάρου πριν το χρησιμοποιήσουν. Δεδομένου ότι δεν υπάρχουν επαρκή στοιχεία για την επίδραση του ηλεκτρονικού τσιγάρου στην υγεία σε μακροχρόνιο επίπεδο, δεν μπορεί να αξιολογηθεί με σιγουριά ποια από τις δύο συνήθειες είναι πιο ασφαλής.Το παρόν βίντεο αναφέρεται σε ηλεκτρονικά τσιγάρα που δεν περιέχουν νικοτίνη.

Smoking is a harmful habit for health and can lead to death. Vaping emerged some decades ago to substitute smoking. However, what is less dangerous? Studies have shown that e-liquid may contain far less harmful substances than traditional tobacco. Nevertheless, vapers must be fully informed by the manufacturers in what concerns labeling and contents of e-cigarettes before using them. Since there are limited data about the long-term effects of e-cigarettes on health, neither smoking nor vaping can be evaluated as safe. This video refers to electronic cigarettes that do not contain nicotine.
