The Museum is pleased to present this special talk, Edward Borein: A Response to His Art, presented by Michael Grauer. This presentation is in honor of the 2021 exhibition, “Borein and His Circle of Friends” and in conjunction with the release of the Museum's publication, "Edward Borein – Etched by the West."

Michael Grauer, Curator of Cowboy Collections at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, will explore the life and art of famed Western artist Edward Borein (1872-1945). Mr. Grauer authored the introductory essay to the above book, the first scholarly treatment of the artist, which includes more than 400 images, many never before published. The book describes Borein’s path from itinerant vaquero to successful illustrator to revered recorder and interpreter of the vanishing West.

The “Borein and His Circle of Friends” exhibition is open September 22, 2021, through January 22, 2022. Marlene R. Miller is Guest Curator.
