In this video, Dr. Ben Glass shares a follow along video to practice standing decompression on your own. This is a decompression of the spine and an upward force of your body through this important movement including basic mental cues and visuals to focus on so you can perform a Standing Decompression the right way every time.

The standing decompression brings your mid thoracic spine and lats into a lengthened position which needs to be held for over a minute to offset the tension built from sitting. Practice feeling how the lengthening can be connected from elbow to the mid back and down into the low back.

This movement was developed by the Foundation Training team made up Chiropractors and movement experts who understand the importance of guiding people through motion in a safe way when they are healing from an injury, stiff from a long day of sitting and even for performance athletes who need to actively recover and strengthen up their body mechanics to train for efficient movement.

This is part of a series of facilitated movement videos to help people get the most out of their chiropractic care and practice safely without having to remember what they were taught in the office.
