The MGH swallow screen offers a quick and reliable method to identify risk for dysphagia and aspiration in stroke and other neurologically impaired patients.

The "Material" (MGH - SST) is designed as a swallow screening to determine risk of aspiration. The "material" does not determine etiology, explore the physiology or nature of the deficit, nor determine a treatment plan. The "Material" is not intended to give definite medical consultation and must not be used to replace or overrule a clinician's judgment or clinician's diagnostic decision making. The responsibility for decisions regarding actual patient care rests solely with the providers of care including physician, nurse, speech-language pathologist or other members of patient's health care team.
