Описание к видео 前面展望 飯田線核心部パート1 中部天竜→平岡 <cabview Japan rail Iida Line Chūbu-Tenryū→Hiraoka>

This is a cab view of the Iida Line train that connects Toyohashi Station in Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture, located almost in the center of Japan's largest island, Honshu, and Tatsuno Station in Nagano Prefecture.

The Iida Line is a long line with a total length of 1,957.7 km, and construction was progressed by four private railways from the late 1800s, and the entire line opened in 1937. This line runs through a deep valley between two mountain ranges, and especially between Chubu Tenryu Station and Tenryukyo Station in the center, the line runs through a deep valley and the population along the line is small. For this reason, this section is often referred to as ``one of Japan's most unexplored railways.''

This video includes a cab view from Chubu Tenryu Station to Tenryukyo Station. There are a lot of tunnels, and many of them are long, so we omit footage of some of the tunnels and when the driver stands up to open and close the door and passes in front of the lens. please note that.

Originally built as a private railway, the Iida Line is a long line, but the distances between stations are short and the population along the line is small, so there are no high-class trains running along the entire line. not. The train I rode on that day was one of the few trains that ran the entire line and stopped at every station, but it took 6 hours and 30 minutes to travel the entire line.

It takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes to get from Chubu Tenryu to Tenryu Gorge, and it would be too long to upload this video all at once, so this time I recorded part 1 from Chubu Tenryu Station to Hiraoka Station on the way. Later, as Part 2, I will upload the cab view north of Hiraoka Station, and I will also upload footage of the southern and northern parts of the Iida Line in due course. The landscape of each region is quite different from the region we will upload this time.

The ``渡らずの鉄橋'' that appears along the way means a bridge that does not cross the river. At this bridge, the railway line continues above the river from the left bank, but above the river the railway line makes an S-shaped curve and then returns to the left bank of the river. This mysterious bridge was probably built as an unavoidable measure because there was no space to lay railroad tracks. It reminds us of the hardships experienced during construction in the distant past.
