Mike McKenna knows how special it is to last 18 years as a goalie and then stay in the game after he hung up his mask and gloves.

On today’s episode, Mike shares many of the highs and a few of the lows during his ride with nine National Hockey League and 17 different minor league teams. You’ll also hear about some of the travails of minor league hockey, including the time his team bus caught on fire on the way to a big game.

Less than 500 people have ever had a shutout as a goalie in NHL history and Mike was one of them. He has a way to see the bright side of his entire ride and it was that upbeat attitude and enthusiasm that led to him staying in the game. Today he is the studio analyst for the NHL’s Las Vegas Golden Knights.
