Inspect faulty HPFP Cam Follower (overheating, losing power, cuts out) - MK5 Golf 1.6 2.0 FSI

my mk5 vw golf fsi has been overheating, losing power and then cutting out, after 30 mins of driving (generally in traffic) then the car overheats and cuts out. need 20-40 mins to cool down and then will get going and repeat.

after some research it turns out a potential fault could be the cam follower. turns out my cam follower tappet was not at fault. but i filmed and documented how you could diagnose to check to see if you have a faulty / broken fam follower.
