When you see it from the outside, Anmol restaurant in Bejai, Mangalore, almost appears nondescript. And if you don’t pay attention, you could easily miss it. But once you step in and look past its rustic decor and noisy buzz, it’s the GSB delicacies served here that has brought patrons back for 25 years. And at the heart of the food here is its owner, Vasanth Kamath under whose supervision, the kitchen dishes out classics like the shavige dali tove and heengana, the latter I tasted for the first time. There’s everything on the menu from the expected buns, goli baje, dosae, sheera and more! But what makes the fare interesting here are the subtle touches one finds unexpectedly in staple South Kanara fare! If you're looking for a tasty tiffin stop in Kudla, check Anmol out.
