Ryzen 1700 Workstation Build!

Описание к видео Ryzen 1700 Workstation Build!

What am I drinking?

Today I went for the Laurelwood (Portland, OR) Free Range Red. 5.7% Red Ale.

And yes, at the end of the video, I said Eugene. I was thinking Oakshire, not Laurelwood. Both are really good. Go try them.

Since Ryzen’s release back in March, it has continued to impress, providing excellent performance when it comes to multithreaded workloads. And it does a reasonably good job keeping up in gaming and single threaded tasks.

If your only focus when building a computer is games, there still is no beating the 7600k and 7700k. But for workstations, productivity, multitasking, content creators, there simply is no better bang for the buck right now than Ryzen 7. Today, we’re going to put one together.

Overclocking was pretty straightforward. I’ve been working with this system for the last couple days, and it seems we got pretty lucky in the silicon lottery. I was able to get a 3.975GHz clock stable at 1.41V. The 212 Evo kept up well enough, but at the expense of both thermals and acoustics, peaking at around 78C. I dialed the OC back to 3.875, and was able to pull voltage all the way down to 1.3500. This ran AIDA64 for 12 hours with a peak of 65.5C, and kept the fans under 1100RPM. At idle, the system is just above a whisper, with both front and CPU fans sitting around 800RPM.

Thanks everyone for watching, and for helping my channel grow as quickly as it is. It's not easy starting out, and you all make it worth it!
