Oath SPEED Review

Shelfside review Oath: Chronicles of Empire and Exile, an area control board game from Leder Games that lets players guide the course of history, as outcomes of a game will affect the setup of future Oath games! One player will start off as the Chancellor, everyone else is an exile trying to overthrow their little tabletop empire. There are shifting win conditions players will fight over, and every passing round brings the Chancellor closer to victory. With everyone having 6 possible actions, Oath is simpler in basic rules structure than one might think, but everyone's abilities start to get out of control as more and more cards are drawn from the world deck! Oath consistently tells amazing stories, and everyone's worlds will be unique from one another, leading to endless gameplay narratives for your game nights to make your own history. The components and art by Kyle Ferrin all look great, with colorful wooden meeples, plenty of dice and tons of cards to use as sites, denizens, and relics! Though, maybe the chronicle book should've come with the base game...
