Michael Padilla has a powerful New Mexico story that makes him uniquely qualified to be our Lieutenant Governor.

His parents couldn’t raise Michael and is sisters, so they grew up in fosters homes in Albuquerque, Los Lunas, Belen, Estancia, Zuni, Los Padillas and Truth or Consequences. They also lived in the All Faiths Receiving Home for Homeless children. This challenging childhood made Michael determined to succeed.

WHO IS HE – WORK PHOTO AND FAMILY

Michael raised a family, went to the University of New Mexico, and built a successful New Mexico business that has created thousands of jobs across the state.

Michael has served the Democratic Party of New Mexico as a precinct and ward chairman, and as a county and state central committee member, volunteering from the time he was ten years old. Michael is proud to be a Democrat because he believes it is the actions of the Democratic Party that helped raise him to become the leader that he is today.

WHAT SEN. MICHAEL PADILLA HAS DONE

Michael became a state senator who quickly distinguished himself by being elected to leadership in two short years. He has successfully championed legislation that ensures that our children do not go hungry during their school day, passed multiple pieces of economic development and job creation legislation, including massive high speed broadband expansion, is a strong voice in reforming CYFD child protective service, and is a key leader in the fight to fully fund early education and home visitation services, which he sees as the number one way to build a world class workforce and finally turn around poverty in New Mexico.
