7 Methods for Playing Heavy Riffs in E Standard Tuning

Here are my 'secret weapons' you can use to make your metal riffs sound heavier in E standard tuning, on a 6-string guitar.

None of these methods have to do with gear or tones. It's all in the way you play and what you come up with for your metal riffs.

Heavy is more of a feeling when it comes to music. It's not so much a sound or type of guitar or amp, or even amp settings. Those are important but only to a certain point. I talk more about that at the end of the video to be sure to hang around for that.

I also want to encourage you to think about the feeling you want someone to have when they hear you play guitar, when they hear your riff, or the song that you wrote. This will help you create better metal riffs.
