Axis and Allies 1942 - Germany Strategy: Turn 2 Battle for Britain

Описание к видео Axis and Allies 1942 - Germany Strategy: Turn 2 Battle for Britain

In this video, I walk through a strategy for Axis that seeks to apply as much pressure as possible to the UK, capturing London on Turn 2. This approach does not weaken the Eastern front substantially, and forces the UK to take significant risks to prevent a back-breaking opening. Here is idea step-by-step:

Russia 1: destroy Ukraine and West Russia; abandon Karelia

German 1:
-Buy 2 Transports and 2 Cruisers (for Sea Zone 5)
-Attack Sea Zone 7 with 2 subs (from sea zone 5), 2 fighters from north, and 1 bomber; Attack Sea Zone 14 with Battleship in med, 3 fighters from south europe; Attack Karelia with foot troops (ferry with transport from Germany + cruiser bombardment) and northern armour; recapture Ukraine with southern ground forces.
-Move subs in Sea Zone 9 to blockade 9 and 13; route tanks to Baltic States and infantry to germany or north; move transport to 14, and African forces east toward Egypt (leave 1 guy in Morocco)
-Place Cruisers and Transports in Sea Zone 5

This general strategy enables the following attack on Britain Turn 2, if UK does nothing.

-4 transports (4 tanks + 4 infantry)
-4 bombardments (3 cruisers + 1 battleship)
-5 fighers
-1 bomber

Even if UK stacks with 7 infantry, this is still a strong engagement for Germany, and it is risky to slow down. You have to get very lucky with a UK attack into Sea Zone 5, which is very risky because you must kill all 3 cruisers or the assault from Germany is far more potent (since UK will be missing all their fighters). Sea Zone 14 is also risky to address with the Egyptian fighter, which is better used in the Pacific to help vs. Japan.

In short, this strategy stretches UK to the limit before they even get a turn 1, forcing them to spend money when they would prefer to pivot with an influx of cash on turn 2.
