Step-by-step guide on how to build or make padded fly rod holders for a raft using materials found at your local hardware and sporting good stores. Jump to 4:30 for overview of finished project. These holders are built to stay attached to the raft during transport and storage. Compared to other options these are much cheaper, can be made in ~3 hrs. and are durable. I am going to epoxy the bungees in so they are held permanently.

Tip: it is easier to fit foam insulation in if you slice a sliver out, also, a couple small holes in the PVC will help drain holders in wet weather.

Supplies and tools used: (total cost less than $50 and about 3 hours work)
1.25" PVC - 10 ft. (2)
3 pcs small diameter foam pipe insulation
4.5 inch grinder with skinny disk for cutting PVC
2 ft. cam straps (2)
6 inch pieces of webbing (2)
3/16 inch diameter 1/4 inch aluminum rivets
heat gun
2 pieces of bungee cord for securing reels
nail and propane torch for making holes in webbing
