A heat seeking missile at the linebacker position. Played with a violent streak (was had a black belt in karate). Tippett gets overshadowed by Lawrence Taylor, but he was a similar type of player who was almost as good as LT. He set a franchise record with 18.5 sacks in 1984 and went over the 10 sack mark three times in his career. He was a 2x First Team All Pro, 5x Pro Bowler, 100 sacks in his career, and was voted in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2008.
