Toyota Tacoma 2.7L (3RZ-FE) Valve Adjustment

Описание к видео Toyota Tacoma 2.7L (3RZ-FE) Valve Adjustment

This video contains lots of useful information on doing shim style valve adjustment. There are tips and background info in the first parts. If you want to skip ahead and watch me do an actual shim replacement on this Toyota Tacoma, skip ahead to 9:20. You will see me use a tool to depress the valve that is a little uncommon. I talk about this tool in the video. I use a tiny wedge tool made by Honda Motor Co. instead of the rather clumsy pliers tool from Snap-on. I've used both, and the wedge tool is a much better way to go. Feel free to comment, or contact me if you have any questions on doing this job. Thanks for watching!

UPDATE:
I've always felt that doing a really accurate valve adjustment was crucial to having an engine run optimally. I've done valve adjustments on engines that would shake at idle, and were dead steady once adjusted properly. The truck in this video was getting 15 to 17 mpg prior to this valve adjustment, and in 12 tankfuls after the valve adjustment, it is getting 19 to 22 mpg.
