India’s Department of Posts and the Association of Mutual Funds in India, or AMFI, have signed a landmark agreement to make mutual fund investments available through India’s vast postal network.

With over 1.64 lakh post offices across rural and semi-urban India, this partnership aims to bring investment opportunities to millions who have limited access to financial products.

Under this new model, postal workers will be trained as mutual fund distributors to guide and assist investors right in their local communities.

The initiative addresses India’s low mutual fund penetration, which stands at just 5%, by improving financial inclusion and encouraging wealth creation nationwide.

The three-year MoU, effective from August 22, 2025, to August 21, 2028, prioritizes investor data safety and service integrity.

This collaboration is a game-changing step towards opening new doors for financial growth in even the remotest corners of the country.

This is India Post and AMFI working together to democratize investment for all.
