Just as firey as the debate about low vs high cymbals is that about low vs high thrones. That's why I couldn't NOT do a video about it.

From Vinnie, to Chad Smith, to Lars, low-throners are populist, rebellious, rockers, not afraid to sod ergonomics for a cool looking kit. And nothing looks cooler than being surrounded by a wall of drums and cymbals you're practically falling out the bottom of.

But another group, which includes people like Chris Dave, but also rockers like Mike Portnoy, eschewed the easy answers, swam upstream, and decided they were going to sit high. In every sense of that phrase.

Soooo which is actually better?

What does it feel like to play in each playing position? What are the pros and cons of each?
