Certain people in my life (hey girls!) are addicted to vampire TV shows and started me watching True Blood, not as bad as I expected as a show. But I really like the theme song, Bad Things by Jace Everett (guitar by Chris Raspante). This video used to have tabs in it, but they were in YouTube annotation format, and YouTube got rid of annotations, so sorry, those are gone.

So I figured I would try to learn to play the solo for it on the guitar. I went looking around YouTube and at internet tabs, and everyone that I could find was doing the first solo from the original Jace Everett song rather than the True Blood opening theme song, which mixes elements of the first and second solos from the original song. So I thought I would give it a try, as there appeared to be a void that needed filling.

Don't get me wrong here, I am not claiming to be a brilliant guitarist. I would settle for "mediocre" on a good day -- I have only been playing for something like 6 months after a 20-year hiatus. But hopefully this will be of use to someone who also has friends obsessed with vampires, or who just plain likes the show's opening credit music. Let me know what you think! But be nice, eh? :-)
