On July 4, 1976, the township of Mt. Lebanon, PA buried two “Tricentennial Time Capsules.”

Intended to be opened on July 4, 2017, the capsules contain, among other things, a dictionary of contemporary slang, a Sears Roebuck catalog, samples of school publications, the Pennsylvania school law, ashtrays, T-shirts and gym shoes, a television tape of police in action, and a radioactive isotope of uranium 203.

As a 15-year-old kid, I shot this Super8 movie of the ceremony.
