I decided to jump ahead before the next semester and start to familiarize myself with SQL. Using C# programming language since it's what I had just learned and to me seems incredibly easy for a static language.

Understanding SQL and using a LocalDB instead of numerous text files to store information in. Text files can get messy and can get very unreliable. Generally it cleans up the whole operation in sense. Learned how to create multiple tables, one for Pokemon, one for Moves, and then one that links both tables using a linking table of PokemonMoves, this allows me assign moves to a specific Pokemon and attach that value to that. This works with assigning abilities, as well as locations themselves.

A reason to switch to SQL database instead of text files was because using Pokemon and objects and such is an incredible way to learn how to handle information, data, objects, and values. It's a great structural learning tactic.

Using the SQL database allows me to utilize it in other programs too. I can use the database for a Card Collection tracker program, or a console app text based adventure, or a battle simulator using stats that get saved in the database Manager program, or just use it for general Pokemon purposes.

This should make programming programs for Pokemon related things incredibly easier.

I used the Pokemon Crystal animated sprites, and I used Pokemon audio cries as well.

I do plan on working on this over the summer. To keep my mind occupied and to hopefully help retain the information. lol
