The 2 Red LEDSs for the red stop lights did not flash upon setting the tactile button.

TROUBLESHOOTING

1. Tried to push the button into the breadboard and guessing the pins might not be reaching the circuits;
tried different spots sin the breadboard guessing it might be the breadboard.
However, still had no positive results even if I made sure of proper positioning and alignment of wires.
2. Checked the tactile button with the meter: horizontal and across = 3 buttons were bad.
3. With a good tactile button, upon testing with a meter I found out that
A. If I just “press – click”
on the button, it does not keep the circuit on “Close State” ____ (no beep, remains O.L) but remains “Open State” __/ __
B. If I “press-hold” on the button for a few seconds (around 4 sec) It puts the button into
the “Close State” and a reading of 6 or 7 appears.
4. With a good button also checked on the wire, found 2 wires faulty.

RESULT: found a good working button, with good wires.

APPLICATION: SOLUTION
Thus, in application to triggering the Red LEDs, I had to “push –hold” the button and wait for a few
seconds delay while the RYG cycle is ongoing -until the RED LEDs flash.
CONCLUSION: * I did some readings on push button switches and figured the buttons I have on the kit were
momentary switches and not permanent. It has to be pressed (hold for a few seconds) for “Closed State” to trigger the LEDs)
