Update: Reign does not appear to be in any pain, but is no longer strong enough to walk with her wheelchair. Due to significant loss of muscle mass and the inability to reposition herself on her own, she is now considered end of life. Despite this, I continue to do physiotherapy with Reign everyday at home.

Reign is my German Shepherd support dog that needs a spinal decompression surgery. She was diagnosed with IVDD Type II on October 6th, 2023.

Reign was showing improvement and began regaining strength in her legs until she was dog attacked at the local park by a neighbor's dog on August 13th. The dog attacked Reign's back legs/wheels, rolled her wheelchair over, and Reign twisted and re injured her spine in a horrific crash landing. She is now unable to stand or turn herself over at all. There is very little information out there on how to manage large breed dogs with IVDD.

This is my journal on Reign's progress and I hope that this might help others.
