Fishing for the Brook Trout. This magnificent, striking, stunningly beautiful fish is native to the colder streams, ponds and lakes in Wisconsin, Michigan, Northeastern United States, and Southeastern Canada. It is so beautiful and popular, so it has been stocked in several watersheds in Western United States and several countries around the world. The Brook Trout is the tenth installment of the series that I'll probably be working on until the day that I die. The Brook Trout - Scientific Name: Salvelinus fontinalis The goal is to catch 1000 different fish species, and today I am chasing a fish that is more commonly found in Northern Wisconsin. They can be caught with small inline spinners, but on this trip, I was finding much more success with a small plastic jig called a Mini Mite.
