Defects of vision is the loss of power of accommodation of the human eye. They are mainly of three types:
1. Myopia/ near-sightedness: The person can see nearby objects clearly but is unable to see objects beyond some distance.
2. Hypermetropia (long-sightedness) is a common eye condition where nearby objects appear blurred, but your vision is clearer when looking at things further away.
3. Presbyopia is the normal loss of near focusing ability that occurs with age. Most people begin to notice the effects of presbyopia sometime at an older age, when they start having trouble seeing small print clearly — including reading a newspaper.
