Please Support As and Give me a Feed Back to Improve. France has begun the process of replacement for its nuclear-powered aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, with industrial lead Naval Group saying its successor will be “the biggest warship France has ever built”.
According to a tweet published by the French Navy on April 13, 2022, the Navy has released the first look Images about the future French aircraft carrier (PA-NG), "the new generation aircraft carrier".
The French Navy is actively planning for a future aircraft carrier and new flagship. It is known in French as Porte-avions de nouvelle génération (PA-Ng) for "new generation aircraft carrier".
French Minister of the Armed Forces Florence Parly announced the start of a second carrier program, as a replacement for Charles de Gaulle.
To meet the entry into service objective, It will be powered by two nuclear reactors, and also feature new-generation launch and recovery equipment including electromagnetic catapults, the carrier should equipped stealthy New Generation Fighter NGF and their Future Combat Air System (FCAS). France expects the new ship to commence trials by 2035.
France’s defence ministry says the vessel should have a displacement of around 75,000 tons and be approximately a length of 300 meters, and a beam of 40 meters and it will have two elevators. It will deploy an air wing including up to 30 New Generation Fighter (NGF) and Future Combat Air System (FCAS) now being developed by France, Germany and Spain.
Concept images of a future carrier released by Naval Group show the vessel carrying a full load of NGF combat aircraft, and a nearer-term operational mix of the type alongside Rafales, Hawkeyes and NH90 helicopters.
