Lorcan O’Herlihy will lecture on the topic “Amplified Urbanism” as part of the college’s prestigious Sappenfield guest lecture series.

“Exceptional architecture elevates the built environment in dimensions that radiate far beyond normal parameters: This principle has guided Lorcan O’Herlihy Architects [LOHA] for 25 years,” according to LOHA. The term Amplified Urbanism relates to LOHA’s design methodology, which is rooted in creating fluid interaction between public and private spaces, emphasizing social and civic connections, and harnessing existing ecological and infrastructural patterns. “This lecture will walk you through a series of LOHA projects and highlights how the tenets of Amplified Urbanism have been successfully implemented to cultivate vibrant communities. Each of these projects demonstrates our commitment to artistry, social justice and elevating the human condition through creating uplifting and enriching living spaces.”
