Anti-theft systems are designed to prevent your vehicle from being stolen. 

The system "breaks" the flow of electricity to the engine start sequence when the vehicle detects that a key other than the correct one is attempting to start it.  Often, the system combines two critical components to keep the vehicle from being stolen.  1) The audible vehicle alarm Essentially, how they work is by an electrical circuit disconnecting to prevent power from flowing in some fashion so your car won’t start or to die immediately. An anti-theft system may also integrate a car alarm or it might be just an engine immobilizer.

If your anti theft / engine immobilizer fails then a possible solution may be found in replacing the vehicle battery.  If the battery dies then the key memory may have to be reset OR if the battery in the key remote dies.
