കൊട്ടാരക്കര ഗണപതി ക്ഷേത്രം

കൊട്ടാരക്കര ശ്രീ മഹാഗണപതി ക്ഷേത്രം കൊല്ലത്ത് നിന്നും ഏകദേശം, ഇരുപത്തിയേഴ് കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലെ, കൊട്ടാരക്കരയിൽ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നു. യഥാർഥത്തിൽ ഇത് മണികണ്ഠേശ്വരം (കിഴക്കേക്കര) ശിവക്ഷേത്രം ആണ്. കിഴക്കോട്ട് ദർശനമായ ശിവനും പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ട് ദർശനമായ പാർവ്വതിയുമാണ് പ്രധാനപ്രതിഷ്ഠകളെന്നിരുന്നാലും ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ ഉപദേവനായിരുന്ന ശിവപാർവ്വതീപുത്രനും വിഘ്നേശ്വരനുമായ ഗണപതിയുടെ പേരിലാണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം പ്രസിദ്ധമായത്.ഉണ്ണിയപ്പമാണ് ഗണപതിയുടെ പ്രധാന പ്രസാദം. കൊട്ടാരക്കയിലെ ഉണ്ണിയപ്പം അതിപ്രസിദ്ധമാണ്. മേടമാസത്തിലെ തിരുവാതിര ദിവസമാണ് ഉത്സവം. ഇത് ശിവന്നുള്ളത്. ചിങ്ങമാസത്തിലെ ഗണേശ ചതുർത്ഥിയും പ്രധാനമാണ്. സുബ്രഹ്മണ്യൻ, ധർമ്മശാസ്താവ്, നാഗദൈവങ്ങൾ എന്നിവരാണ് ഉപദേവതകൾ.
തിരുവിതാംകൂർ ദേവസ്വം ബോർഡിന്റെ കീഴിലാണ് ഈ മഹാക്ഷേത്രം.
