Mount Wellington, also known as kunanyi, is a prominent natural landmark located near Hobart, the capital city of Tasmania, Australia.

Mount Wellington stands at an impressive height of 1,271 meters (4,170 feet) above sea level. It is the summit of the Wellington Range, part of the greater Southern Ranges in Tasmania. The mountain features dolerite cliffs and a rugged alpine landscape, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding region.

At the top of Mount Wellington, there is a designated viewing platform known as the Pinnacle. From here, visitors can enjoy breathtaking vistas of Hobart, the Derwent River, and the picturesque landscapes stretching across Tasmania. On clear days, the view extends as far as Bruny Island and the Tasman Peninsula.

Due to its elevation, the weather conditions on Mount Wellington can be considerably different from the city of Hobart below. The summit often experiences cooler temperatures, strong winds, and misty conditions, even during the summer months. It is advisable to dress in layers and be prepared for changing weather conditions when visiting.
