This latest walk around the ramparts is of the only section still surviving, although these days better known for being somewhere to sit and enjoy the views of the Solent.
The King's Bastion, Long Curtain and Spur Redoubt Survived the demolition of the ramparts due to their proximity to the channel leading into Portsmouth Harbour. Constantly updated right up to WW2 this area has certainly earned a quiet retirement.
