Gov’t agencies preparing for week-long transport strike

Several government agencies are preparing for the upcoming week-long transport strike, beginning on Monday, March 6.

The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will deploy 25 ‘libreng sakay’ vehicles.

In addition to providing free rides, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) plans to extend train operations and possibly lift the odd-even scheme.

Some 4,000 personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP) will be deployed to major thoroughfares and other places of convergence and will also provide free rides.
