It's one thing winning a World Championship title, but it's another winning it in front of your friends and family. In 2018 Jim McMurray repeated his 2016 performance to take the Time Trail title at the UCI Grand Fondo World Championships, his Thermal Chemistry Team Championship teammates watching from the wings, over in Varese together to challenge themselves against the Worlds best. On Sunday they'll be using their friendship and kinship to challenge for the Team Championship.
It may be the finale this weekend but it is not the end of the season for Jim. After setting the UCI Best Hour Performance (55-59) of 47.733km back in 2016, McMurray aims to claim the 60-64 title at the Avantidrome on Saturday 8th May, so I'm sure we can all get down there to cheer him on.
