We received confirmation that the Philippine Navy will be procuring additional numbers of K745 Blue Shark torpedoes from LIGNex1 of South Korea, and Spike-ER missiles from Rafael Advanced Defense Systems of Israel.

The K745 torpedoes will allow the Pohang-class corvette BRP Conrado Yap (PS-39) to be equipped with the munition, while the additional Spike-ER missiles would replace expended rounds and slightly increase the stock missiles in the PN's inventory.

Both procurements would be Government-to-Government (G2G) deals between the DND and South Korea's MND and Israel's MOD, respectively.

It is expected that the Philippine Navy would try to get more funds to procure more K745 Blue Shark torpedoes to arm its 2nd Pohang-class corvette, the former ROKS Andong (PC-771) which is expected to be delivered to the Philippines very soon.
