Tour de France 2006 - stage 16 - d.19 July 2006 — Bourg-d'Oisans to La Toussuire, 182 km.
This was a mountain stage with four categorized climbs. Starting with the Col du Galibier and finishing on La Toussuire.

Michael Rasmussen was angry from how his stage 15 went, therefore he attack from the start, and startet one of his greatest solo rides.
Behind him yellow jersey holder FLoyd Landis showed weakness and had a very bad day. The other GC guys took advantage of this, and startet attacking. Carlos Sastre showed the strongest of them.
